Dir: Arthur Hiller. Stars John Goodman, Kelly McGillis,Trini Alvarado, Bruce Boxleiter, Peter Donat, James Cromwell, J. C. Quinn, Joe Ragno, Bernard Kates, Michael McGrady, Stephen Caffrey. This picture, partially filmed in Danville, Illinois seems to get better with it's aging 13 years after it was filmed. Leonard Maltin gives this a '***' rating calling it "Agreeably sentimental, old-fashioned bio of the great Babe Ruth is largely a vehicle for Goodman, who's terrific in the lead." Print is in near-mint condition, on low-fade LPP film stock, with few (if any, splices--other than those where reels were assembled together). Appears to be a former rental print (and the newest 16mm feature I added to my collection). Appears to have been run very few times. Comes mounted on 2-2000' plastic reels, PLUS plastic cans.
